Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is expected to inaugurate the service on Wednesday afternoon, marking the official launch of Rawalpindi’s first electric bus system.

Following the inauguration, the chief minister is also expected to receive a detailed briefing at the Commissioner’s Office on Rawalpindi’s ongoing development schemes and visit the Kacheri Chowk construction site.

Preparations for the launch intensified, a large canopy has been installed at the Old Waran Depot beside the RTA office, while police have been deployed for security. Officials said, charging stations for the electric buses are ready at the Old Waran Bus Terminal in Saddar and the Green Bus Terminal in Chohar Chowk.

Sources noted that Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb might inaugurate the service if required, though officials have confirmed the chief minister’s expected arrival between 1.30pm and 2pm. Parliamentarians and key government officials have been invited to the ceremony.
