Security forces killed four terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy Fitna al-Khawarij in a series of intelligence-based operations across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing said in a statement.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on November 17 and 18, after receiving reports of the terrorists’ presence, troops launched an intelligence-based operation and engaged the location. During an intense exchange of fire, one terrorist was killed.
“In separate intelligence-led operations in the Spinwam and Zakir Khel areas of North Waziristan district, two more terrorists were killed,” it added. Another terrorist was killed during an encounter in Dera Ismail Khan district, where troops “successfully neutralised” the individual. The statement further said that security forces recovered weapons and ammunition from the terrorists, who authorities said were involved in multiple terrorist activities in the region.
The military added that sanitisation operations were under way to clear the area of any remaining terrorists. Pakistan’s counterterrorism campaign under “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, would continue at “full pace” to eliminate what it described as foreign-sponsored terrorism.
