Police in Tibba Sultanpur, under the Mailsi Circle, arrested a drug peddler and recovered over 17 kilogrammes of hashish during an anti-narcotics operation on Tuesday.
Station House Officer (SHO) Chaudhry Ashraf Zahoor said the operation was launched after receiving a tip-off about drug dealing in the area. Following a tip-off, police cordoned off the vicinity and apprehended the suspect, identified as Zulfiqar Ali, who is a history-sheeter drug trafficker.
Police said Zulfiqar was caught red-handed while attempting to sell narcotics near Pull Jandanwala.
