Meera walks out of Irshad Bhatti podcast as host asks personal questions

Actor earns praise for composure as fans flood social media with criticism towards Bhatti over ethics of interview

Actor Meera appeared on a podcast with Irshad Bhatti to discuss her new film Psycho when the host proceeded to ask her controversial and personal questions. Meera, however, maintained her composure, exiting the show and drawing praise from viewers.

Bhatti asked Meera a series of questions surrounding her personal relationships and rumoured scandals, including her relationship with fellow star Humayun Saeed. Bhatti also questioned the actor on the controversy surrounding her, Captain Naveed, and Atiqur Rehman. He even questioned the money involved in the making of a hospital the Meera says is in honour of her mother.

The personal questions made Meera visibly uncomfortable and awkward, with the actor repeatedly making clear that the purpose of her appearance on the podcast was for her to discuss her work on Psycho. “I don’t know what you are saying. Just watch my film Psycho. I am really excited for it,” she said.

As Bhatti’s questions continued, Meera reiterated, “Again, I made this film Psycho. Everyone should go see it.”

The interview concluded with the actor exiting the podcast. “We are very happy that you came to our set. I’m leaving,” she said calmly, earning praise from fans who flooded social media with criticism towards Bhatti.

Fans also raised concerns regarding the ethics of journalism, urging respect for someone’s personal life.

Meera had a similar experience in a previous interview where she was also asked personal questions which made her uncomfortable.

“I will not speak on personal matters, I am so sorry. I would like to say something with utmost respect on your channel and to your viewers and department, I am not one to discuss personal life on television for the sake of views, ratings and money. I think we should focus on our work and speak on it”, she said.

Meera is an established actor and TV show host known for hit films Mushkil (1995), Baaji (2019), and Kasak (2005), as well as for her upcoming psychological thriller Pyscho, set to release on Eidul Adha.
